Starting / Closing a Shift

A service represents a period of activity for the establishment and is used for accounting and reporting purposes.

A user can close a service at any time using the Start / Close Service button, provided they have the required permissions.

To ensure accounting consistency, it is recommended to:

  • Start a service at the beginning of the day’s service

  • Close the service at the end of the service on the same day

Starting a Service

Starting a service marks the beginning of an activity period.

When a service is started, the following information is recorded:

  • Service start date and time

  • User who started the service

    • The user whose PIN code was entered in the application

  • Opening cash float (optional)

Opening Cash Float

  • Entered manually by the user

  • Used only for on-device calculations

  • Not saved in the administration panel

  • Used later to calculate the cash gain or loss at the end of the service

Closing a Service

Closing a service marks the end of the activity period.

A service can be manually closed by a user at any time.

When a service is closed, the following information is recorded:

  • Service end date and time

  • User who closed the service

  • Closing cash float

Cash Difference Calculation

The closing cash float is used to calculate the cash difference for the service, taking into account:

  • The opening cash float entered at the start of the service

  • All cash payments recorded during the service

  • The closing cash float entered by the user

The resulting value indicates a cash gain or loss for the service.

Notes

  • Service data printed from the POS is intended for summary reference only

  • Detailed reports and exports are available in the administration panel

  • Service start and close actions are logged by user
